Meet the Duo Behind Show-Me Steps
We’re Bonnie and Josh Friess—partners in life, love, and now, in helping couples not trip over each other on the dance floor.
By day, we’re an occupational therapist (her) and a physical therapist (him), which means we spend a lot of time helping people move with confidence. By night (and weekends), we’re the team behind Show-Me Steps, where we turn “We have no rhythm” into “We crushed our first dance!”
With a background in dance and a deep understanding of movement, we help couples feel natural and at ease on the dance floor—no stiff, overly rehearsed routines here. Our approach is all about simple, fun, and confidence-boosting steps that make you look and feel great on your big day.
Our goal? To make your first dance feel effortless, fun, and uniquely YOU. Whether you’re aiming for a simple, romantic sway or a show-stopping lift (we’ll spot you, promise), we’ll help you feel comfortable and confident.
Let’s make your first dance a memory you’ll cherish forever. We can’t wait to dance with you!
1. We have zero dance experience. Can you still help us?
Absolutely! Whether you’ve got two left feet, no rhythm, or you’re working with different mobility needs, we tailor every routine to fit you. Our goal is to make sure you feel confident, comfortable, and have a great time—no prior dance skills required!
2. How long does it take to learn our dance?
It depends on your goals! If you just want to avoid the high school slow dance shuffle, a few lessons will do the trick. If you're dreaming of a full-on performance with lifts and dips, we recommend starting around 2-3 months before your wedding.
3. What if my fiancé has two left feet?
Perfect—now they have a spare! But seriously, we work with all skill levels and will make sure you both feel confident and comfortable. No rhythm? No worries. We break it down step by step.
4. Can we use any song we want?
Yes! Whether it’s a classic love song, a pop hit, or something totally unexpected, we’ll choreograph a dance that fits your song choice (and your vibe). If you’re stuck, we can even help you pick the perfect track.
5. What should we wear to lessons?
Anything you can move in! For the final lessons, it's a good idea to bring your wedding shoes (or something similar) so you can practice dancing in them. We promise not to judge if you show up in fuzzy socks.
6. Do you offer lessons for other wedding dances (parents, bridal party, etc.)?
Absolutely! We offer choreography for mother-son dances, father-daughter dances, and even fun bridal party routines. If Grandma wants in on the action, we fully support that.
7. What if we completely blank out on the dance floor?
We teach muscle memory, so even if your brain takes a coffee break, your body will remember what to do. Plus, we’ll give you easy backup moves just in case. Worst case? Hold each other close, laugh it off, and look adorable—people will love it either way.
8. How do we book a lesson?
Just head to our Contact page, shoot us a message, and we’ll get you scheduled! The sooner, the better—wedding dates fill up fast, and we want to make sure you have enough time to feel like total pros.
9. What if we need to add more sessions?
Easy! We can upgrade you to the next package or add one session at a time for a flat rate in case you (or more likely your fiancé) need extra time to perfect hiding your two left feet.
